There was once a shepherd boy who looked after the sheep near his village. Every day was the same, and he was very bored.

Traduction

One morning, he had an idea. He ran towards the village, shouting: "Wolf! Wolf! A wolf is attacking the sheep!"

Traduction

The villagers dropped what they were doing and rushed up the hill to help. But when they arrived, there was no wolf. The boy was laughing.

Traduction

"You shouldn't lie," said an old man angrily. The villagers went back to work.

Traduction

A week later, the boy did the same thing again. "Wolf! Wolf!" Again, the villagers ran to help him, and again, there was no wolf.

Traduction

Then, one evening, a real wolf came out of the forest. It was big and hungry, and it was moving towards the sheep.

Traduction

The boy was terrified. "Wolf! Wolf! Please help me! This time it's true!" he screamed. But nobody came. Nobody believed him anymore.

Traduction

Le garçon était terrifié. « Au loup ! Au loup ! Aidez-moi, s'il vous plaît ! Cette fois, c'est vrai ! » hurla-t-il. Mais personne ne vint. Plus personne ne le croyait.

The wolf scattered the whole flock. That night, the boy learnt a hard lesson: nobody believes a liar, even when he tells the truth.

Traduction
