Each of / all of

Each of the players got a medal. All of them were happy.
Chacun des joueurs a reçu une médaille. Ils étaient tous contents.

Avec un pronom, of est obligatoire : each of us, all of them. On peut aussi dire we all, they all.

Every ne s'emploie jamais seul ni avec of : on dit every one of them ou each of them.

Mise en situation : au club de sport

Coach : Well done, everyone! Each of you gets a medal today.
Bravo à tous ! Chacun de vous reçoit une médaille aujourd'hui.
Tom : Great! We trained every Saturday, all year!
Super ! On s'est entraînés tous les samedis, toute l'année !
Coach : Yes, and the whole team played brilliantly. All your parents are proud of you!
Oui, et toute l'équipe a joué brillamment. Tous vos parents sont fiers de vous !
