Les adjectifs suivis d'une préposition : afraid of, keen on, proud of...

En anglais, beaucoup d'adjectifs sont suivis d'une préposition précise, souvent différente du français. Le plus simple est de les apprendre par groupes.

Les pièges : married to (marié avec), good at (bon en), interested in (intéressé par), different from (différent de).

Après la préposition, le verbe se met en -ing : I'm tired of waiting. She's good at drawing.

Mise en situation : un entretien pour un club

Coach : So, what are you interested in?
Alors, qu'est-ce qui t'intéresse ?
Lucas : I'm keen on sport, especially climbing. I'm not afraid of heights!
J'adore le sport, surtout l'escalade. Je n'ai pas le vertige !
Coach : Great. Are you good at working in a team?
Super. Tu es doué pour le travail d'équipe ?
Lucas : Yes, and I'm used to training hard. My parents are very proud of my results.
Oui, et j'ai l'habitude de m'entraîner dur. Mes parents sont très fiers de mes résultats.
