Packing was a disaster. They packed the toothbrush, then unpacked everything to find it. Harris sat on the butter, and the eggs were broken. It took them until midnight.
Traduction
On the river, they tried to put up the canvas cover over the boat for the night. It fell on top of them, and they fought it for half an hour, trapped and shouting, while Montmorency barked happily.
Traduction
One evening, after a long day, they dreamed of dessert. Harris found a tin of pineapple. Delicious! But then they realised that they had forgotten the tin opener.
Traduction
They tried a knife, which broke. They tried scissors. They hit the tin with a stone, then with the mast of the boat. Harris cut his hand. At last, the tin was a strange, crushed shape, but still closed.
Traduction
Furious, George threw the tin into the middle of the river. As it sank, they swore at it, and they rowed away in silence. They never found out what pineapple in a tin on the River Thames tastes like.
Traduction
