Every afternoon, after school, the children played in the Giant's beautiful garden. There were soft green grass, flowers like stars and twelve peach trees.

Traduction

One day, the Giant came back after seven years away. "What are you doing here?" he shouted. "My garden is my garden!" He built a high wall and put up a sign: TRESPASSERS WILL BE PROSECUTED.

Traduction

Then spring came all over the country, but not in the Giant's garden. Snow and Frost stayed there all year, with the cold North Wind. The Giant could not understand why.

Traduction

One morning, he heard a bird singing. The children had climbed in through a hole in the wall, and in every tree there was a child. The trees were covered in flowers again!

Traduction

Only one corner was still in winter. A very small boy was crying there, because he could not reach the branches. The Giant's heart melted. He gently lifted the boy into the tree.

Traduction

"How selfish I have been!" said the Giant. He knocked down the wall, and from that day, the garden belonged to the children. The Giant played with them every afternoon, happier than he had ever been.

Traduction
