Traduction

"Beans?" cried his mother. "You silly boy!" She threw the beans out of the window. In the night, they grew into a giant beanstalk, up to the clouds.

Traduction

« Des haricots ? s'écria sa mère. Petit sot !

Jack climbed up and up. At the top, he found a huge castle. A giant lived there! "Fee-fi-fo-fum!" roared the giant.

Traduction

Jack grimpa, grimpa. « Fee-fi-fo-fum ! » rugit le géant.

Jack hid in a cupboard. He saw the giant's hen, which laid golden eggs. When the giant fell asleep, Jack took the hen and ran.

The giant woke up and ran after him. Jack climbed down the beanstalk as fast as he could. "Mother! Quick! The axe!"

Traduction

« Maman ! Vite ! La hache ! »

Jack cut the beanstalk, and the giant fell down with a great crash. With the golden eggs, Jack and his mother were never poor again.
