Le Magicien demande aux amis de vaincre la méchante sorcière de l'Ouest. Elle n'a qu'un œil, mais il voit aussi loin qu'un télescope ! Elle envoie ses singes ailés, capture Dorothy et l'oblige à faire le ménage. Un jour, elle vole un des souliers d'argent ; Dorothy, furieuse, lui jette un seau d'eau... et la sorcière fond ! Prétérit irrégulier : send → sent, make → made, throw → threw.

Wicked Witch : Ha! At last, I've got one of your silver shoes!
Ha ! Enfin, j'ai un de tes souliers d'argent !
Dorothy : Give me back my shoe! You're a wicked woman!
Rends-moi mon soulier ! Vous êtes une méchante femme !
Wicked Witch : Never! It's mine now!
Jamais ! Il est à moi maintenant !
Dorothy : Then take that!
Alors, prenez ça !
Wicked Witch : Water! Oh no! I'm melting! I'm melting away!
De l'eau ! Oh non ! Je fonds ! Je fonds complètement !
Dorothy : She's gone! The slaves are free! Hooray!
Elle a disparu ! Les esclaves sont libres ! Hourra !
