Décrire son animal

I've got a dog called Max. He's three. He's black and white, and he's very playful.
J'ai un chien qui s'appelle Max. Il a trois ans. Il est noir et blanc, et très joueur.

Pour un animal de compagnie, on dit souvent he ou she (et non it), comme pour une personne de la famille.

Mise en situation : au parc avec le chien

Sam : His name's Biscuit. He's only four months old.
Il s'appelle Biscuit. Il n'a que quatre mois.
Lily : Can I stroke him? Does he bite?
Je peux le caresser ? Il mord ?
Sam : No, he's very friendly. I walk him every morning before school.
Non, il est très gentil. Je le promène tous les matins avant l'école.

À retenir

  • pets : dog, cat, rabbit, hamster, goldfish...
  • feed, walk, brush, clean the cage ; the vet.
  • Have you got any pets? What's his name? Can I stroke him?
  • Un animal de compagnie : he / she plutôt que it.
