a new moonune nouvelle lune
a crescent moon 🌙un croissant de lune
a half moonune demi-lune
a full moon 🌕une pleine lune
The Moon doesn't make its own light.
It reflects the light of the Sun.Elle reflète la lumière du Soleil.

Daisy : Look, Dad! The Moon is round tonight!
Regarde, papa ! La Lune est ronde ce soir !
Dad : Yes, it's a full moon. Last week it was a half moon.
Oui, c'est la pleine lune. La semaine dernière, c'était une demi-lune.
Daisy : Why does it change shape?
Pourquoi elle change de forme ?
Dad : It doesn't really change. It goes round the Earth, so we see different parts lit by the Sun.
Daisy : So the Moon doesn't shine by itself?
Dad : No, it reflects sunlight, like a mirror. In two weeks, it'll be a new moon.
