Row, row, row your boat est une comptine anglaise très ancienne. On la chante assis par terre, deux par deux, en se tenant les mains et en faisant semblant de ramer. Les paroles : Row, row, row your boat, gently down the stream. Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, life is but a dream. On peut aussi la chanter en canon !

Mise en situation : en classe

Teacher : Sit down in pairs and hold hands. We're in a boat!
Asseyez-vous deux par deux et tenez-vous les mains. Nous sommes dans un bateau !
Children : Row, row, row your boat, gently down the stream.
Rame, rame, rame avec ton bateau, doucement sur le ruisseau.
Teacher : Very good! Now row gently. Slowly!
Très bien ! Maintenant, ramez doucement. Lentement !
Children : Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, life is but a dream.
Joyeusement, joyeusement, joyeusement, joyeusement, la vie n'est qu'un rêve.
Teacher : Now faster! Row, row, row!
Maintenant plus vite ! Ramez, ramez, ramez !
Children : Splash! We're in the water!
Plouf ! On est dans l'eau !
