On commence par : The article deals with... ou The text is about..., puis The author argues / explains / claims that...

Teacher : How do you start a summary?
Comment commence-t-on un résumé ?
Elsa : With the topic: 'The article deals with plastic pollution in the oceans.'
Teacher : Good. Can you copy sentences from the text?
Bien. Peut-on recopier des phrases du texte ?
Elsa : No, we have to paraphrase, with our own words.
Teacher : And can you give your opinion?
Et peut-on donner son opinion ?
Elsa : Not in a summary! We keep it for the essay.
Pas dans un résumé ! On la garde pour l'essai.
