Skye est la plus grande île (island) de l'archipel des Hébrides intérieures, à l'ouest de l'Écosse. Son nom gaélique signifie « l'île des brumes » (the island of mist), car le temps y change très vite : soleil, pluie et brume dans la même journée ! On y voit des montagnes, des cascades (waterfalls), des bassins d'eau turquoise appelés Fairy Pools, des aigles (eagles) et des loutres (otters). Sur certaines plages, on trouve même des empreintes de dinosaures (dinosaur footprints) ! Depuis 1995, un pont (a bridge) relie l'île au reste de l'Écosse.

Mise en situation : la randonnée sur l'île

Fiona : Welcome to Skye! Put on your raincoat, the weather changes fast here.
Bienvenue à Skye ! Mets ton imperméable, le temps change vite ici.
Leo : Look at the waterfall! The water is so blue!
Regarde la cascade ! L'eau est tellement bleue !
Fiona : These are the Fairy Pools. Shh... is that an otter?
Ce sont les Fairy Pools. Chut... c'est une loutre ?
Leo : Yes! And look up! A big bird!
Oui ! Et regarde en l'air ! Un grand oiseau !
Fiona : It's a golden eagle. Tomorrow we'll look for dinosaur footprints on the beach.
C'est un aigle royal. Demain, on cherchera des empreintes de dinosaures sur la plage.
Leo : Dinosaurs? On this island? Amazing!
Des dinosaures ? Sur cette île ? Incroyable !
