Mise en situation : le débat

Teacher : Should the death penalty be abolished in the USA?
La peine de mort devrait-elle être abolie aux États-Unis ?
Max : Some say it deters crime and gives justice to victims' families.
Lea : But there's no proof it deters crime. And what about wrongful convictions?
Mais rien ne prouve qu'elle dissuade. Et les erreurs judiciaires ?
Max : True. More than 190 people on death row were later found innocent.
Lea : Exactly. You can't bring an innocent person back to life. It's a violation of human rights.
Exactement.
