Pour imaginer : le deuxième conditionnel, If + prétérit, would + verbe (If my town banned cars, I would cycle to school).

Mise en situation : le conseil des jeunes

Mayor : We're thinking of making the town centre car-free. What do you think?
Emma : If you banned cars, the air would be cleaner and the streets would be safer for children.
Paul : But if there were no cars, how would elderly people get to the shops?
Mayor : Good question. We would add more buses and allow disabled drivers.
Bonne question.
Emma : If there were cycle lanes, I would cycle to school every day.
Paul : And shop owners? Wouldn't they lose customers?
Et les commerçants ? Ils ne perdraient pas de clients ?
