A bat is a mammal that can fly.
Bats hang upside down.
They use echolocation.Elles utilisent l'écholocation.
They make sounds and listen to the echo.
A tiny bat can eat a thousand insects a night.

Ranger : It's getting dark. Hold up your bat detectors and listen!
La nuit tombe. Levez vos détecteurs de chauves-souris et écoutez !
Oliver : Click, click, click! What's that noise?
Clic, clic, clic ! C'est quoi, ce bruit ?
Ranger : That's a pipistrelle bat. It makes sounds and listens to the echo. That's called echolocation.
Sophie : Why does it do that? Is it blind?
Pourquoi fait-elle ça ? Elle est aveugle ?
Ranger : No, bats aren't blind! But they hunt in the dark, so sound helps them to find insects.
Oliver : Cool! It's like a superpower!
Génial ! C'est comme un super-pouvoir !
