a robot vacuum cleanerun robot aspirateur
a smart speakerune enceinte connectée
It can clean the floor.Il peut nettoyer le sol.
It can't climb the stairs.Il ne peut pas monter les escaliers.
In the future, robots will cook for us.À l'avenir, les robots cuisineront pour nous.
I don't think robots will replace teachers.Je ne pense pas que les robots remplaceront les profs.

Les robots sont déjà chez nous : aspirateurs, tondeuses, enceintes qui répondent aux questions. Pour dire ce qu'ils savent faire : can / can't. Pour faire des prédictions : will + verbe (Robots will do the washing-up), à la forme négative won't. Pour donner son avis : I think... / I don't think...

Mise en situation : le débat

Teacher : What can robots do at home today?
Que peuvent faire les robots à la maison aujourd'hui ?
Nathan : Our robot vacuum cleaner can clean the floor, but it can't climb the stairs!
Notre robot aspirateur peut nettoyer le sol, mais il ne peut pas monter les escaliers !
Teacher : And in the future?
Et à l'avenir ?
Clara : I think robots will cook, do the washing-up and fold the laundry.
Je pense que les robots cuisineront, feront la vaisselle et plieront le linge.
Nathan : Will robots replace teachers?
Les robots remplaceront-ils les profs ?
Teacher : I don't think so! Robots won't understand your jokes.
Je ne pense pas ! Les robots ne comprendront pas vos blagues.
