Quand il pleut et qu'on ne peut pas sortir, les enfants anglais chantent : Rain, rain, go away, come again another day! (Pluie, pluie, va-t'en, reviens un autre jour !). Ils ajoutent : Little Tom wants to play en mettant leur propre prénom. Pour dire qu'il pleut, on dit It's raining, et quand le soleil revient : The sun is out!

Mise en situation : le jour de pluie

Lily : Oh no! It's raining!
Oh non ! Il pleut !
Tom : Rain, rain, go away!
Pluie, pluie, va-t'en !
Lily : Come again another day!
Reviens un autre jour !
Tom : Little Tom wants to play!
Le petit Tom veut jouer !
Lily : Look! The sun is out!
Regarde ! Le soleil est sorti !
Tom : Hooray! Let's play outside!
Hourra ! Allons jouer dehors !
