Norwegian prisons focus on rehabilitation.Les prisons norvégiennes misent sur la réinsertion.
The aim of prison should be to protect society.

Pour exprimer un but : The aim / purpose of prison should be to... ; in order to, so that.

Mise en situation : le débat

Teacher : What should the aim of prison be: to punish or to rehabilitate?
Oliver : To punish. Victims deserve justice, and criminals must pay for what they did.
Punir.
Sarah : But most prisoners will be released one day. If they come out without skills or hope, they'll reoffend.
Teacher : In Norway, prisons focus on rehabilitation, and reoffending rates are much lower.
Oliver : But those prisons look like hotels! That's unfair to victims.
Mais ces prisons ressemblent à des hôtels ! C'est injuste pour les victimes.
Sarah : The goal isn't comfort. It's training and education, so that society is safer in the long term.
