Teacher : Look at this bench. Why do you think it has three armrests?
Regardez ce banc. Pourquoi a-t-il trois accoudoirs, à votre avis ?
Malik : So that nobody can lie down on it. It's designed to prevent homeless people from sleeping there.
Teacher : That's what we call hostile architecture. Is it justified?
Nora : Some shop owners say it keeps the area safe and clean.
Malik : But it hides the problem rather than solving it. The people still have nowhere to go!
Nora : True. And it affects everyone: elderly people and pregnant women need to rest too. Public space should be for everyone.
