Pour raconter : prétérit + first, then, after that, finally.

Mise en situation : la veillée

Grandpa : Do you know how Arthur got Excalibur?
Tu sais comment Arthur a eu Excalibur ?
Mia : No! Tell me!
Non ! Raconte !
Grandpa : First, Arthur and Merlin went to a magic lake. Then a hand rose out of the water, holding a sword.
Mia : Whose hand was it?
À qui était cette main ?
Grandpa : The Lady of the Lake's! She gave the sword to Arthur.
À la Dame du Lac ! Elle a donné l'épée à Arthur.
Mia : And what happened at the end?
Et que s'est-il passé à la fin ?
Grandpa : Finally, when Arthur was dying, a knight threw Excalibur back into the lake, and the hand caught it.
