Au téléphone, on se présente avec It's... (jamais I am...) : Hello, it's Lucas. Pour demander quelqu'un : Can I speak to...? Si c'est la bonne personne : Speaking! (c'est moi). Sinon : Hold on (ne quittez pas), He's not in (il n'est pas là), Can I take a message? Et pour finir : Bye! Speak soon!

Mise en situation : au téléphone

Mrs Davis : Hello?
Allô ?
Lucas : Hello, it's Lucas. Can I speak to Tom, please?
Bonjour, c'est Lucas. Je peux parler à Tom, s'il vous plaît ?
Mrs Davis : Sorry, Lucas, he's not here. He's at football practice. Can I take a message?
Désolée, Lucas, il n'est pas là. Il est à l'entraînement de foot. Je peux prendre un message ?
Lucas : Yes, please. Can you tell him the cinema is at six o'clock tomorrow?
Oui, s'il vous plaît. Vous pouvez lui dire que le cinéma est à six heures demain ?
Mrs Davis : Six o'clock, the cinema. OK, I'll tell him.
Six heures, le cinéma. D'accord, je lui dirai.
