En Angleterre, chaque famille sort ses poubelles devant la maison le jour du ramassage : c'est bin day ! Le camion-poubelle (the bin lorry) passe tôt le matin. Il y a souvent plusieurs poubelles : une pour les ordures (rubbish), une pour le tri (recycling) : papier, plastique, verre... et parfois une pour les déchets du jardin. Attention : les Américains disent trash et garbage truck.

Mise en situation : le matin du ramassage

Mum : Sam, it's bin day! Can you put out the bin?
Sam, c'est le jour des poubelles ! Tu peux sortir la poubelle ?
Sam : Which one? The green one or the blue one?
Laquelle ? La verte ou la bleue ?
Mum : The blue one. It's for recycling: paper, plastic and glass.
La bleue. C'est pour le tri : papier, plastique et verre.
Sam : Listen! I can hear the bin lorry!
Écoute ! J'entends le camion-poubelle !
Mum : Quick! Run!
Vite ! Cours !
Sam : Done! Good morning, bin men!
C'est fait ! Bonjour, messieurs les éboueurs !
