a lot of / lots ofbeaucoup de
I've got a lot of friends.J'ai beaucoup d'amis.
not many + plurielpas beaucoup de (ce qui se compte)

a few apples 🍎quelques pommes

Mum : Have you got a lot of homework today?
Tu as beaucoup de devoirs aujourd'hui ?
Noah : No, not much. Just a little maths.
Non, pas beaucoup. Juste un peu de maths.
Mum : Would you like some biscuits?
Tu veux des biscuits ?
Noah : Yes, please! Lots of biscuits!
Oui, s'il te plaît ! Plein de biscuits !
Mum : Just a few, Noah. And a little milk.
Juste quelques-uns, Noah. Et un peu de lait.
Noah : OK... but not many is not enough!
