the Great Storm of 1987la grande tempête de 1987
The wind was blowing very hard.Le vent soufflait très fort.
Millions of trees fell down.Des millions d'arbres sont tombés.
There were power cuts everywhere.
The weather forecast was wrong.La météo s'était trompée.
I was sleeping when the storm started.

Lucas : Grandma, do you remember the Great Storm of 1987?
Grandma : Of course! I was sleeping when a loud noise woke me up.
Lucas : What was it?
C'était quoi ?
Grandma : The wind was blowing so hard that a big tree fell on our garden wall!
Lucas : Didn't the weather forecast warn you?
La météo ne vous avait pas prévenus ?
Grandma : No! The day before, they said there wouldn't be a hurricane. In the morning, there were no trains, no electricity and trees everywhere.
Non !
