second-hand / pre-loved clothesdes vêtements d'occasion
I found this vintage jacket in a charity shop.J'ai trouvé cette veste vintage dans une boutique caritative.
It was a real bargain!C'était une vraie bonne affaire !
It's worth looking in second-hand shops.Ça vaut la peine de chercher dans les boutiques d'occasion.
Buying second-hand is more sustainable.Acheter d'occasion est plus durable.
Clothes swaps are becoming popular.

Gérondif : It's worth + V-ing (ça vaut la peine de), Buying second-hand is... (le verbe en -ing comme sujet).

Mise en situation : dans la rue commerçante

Ava : I love your jacket! Where did you buy it?
J'adore ta veste ! Où l'as-tu achetée ?
Malik : In a charity shop, for six pounds! It's vintage, from the 1990s.
Dans une boutique caritative, pour six livres ! Elle est vintage, des années 1990.
Ava : Six pounds? What a bargain! I'd never thought of buying second-hand clothes.
Six livres ? Quelle bonne affaire !
Malik : It's worth looking. And buying pre-loved is better for the planet.
Ava : And the money goes to charity, right?
Malik : Exactly. There's also a clothes swap at school on Friday. Bring the clothes you don't wear any more!
Exactement.
