Dans les cours de récré britanniques, on échange (swap) des autocollants (stickers) et des cartes à collectionner (trading cards). On feuillette le paquet de l'autre en disant Got it, got it, need it! (Je l'ai, je l'ai, il me la faut !). Pour proposer : Do you want to swap? ; pour refuser : I've already got it. Une carte rare (a rare card) vaut souvent plusieurs cartes ordinaires. Quand on est d'accord : It's a deal!

Mise en situation : dans la cour

Kai : Have you got any swaps?
Tu as des doubles à échanger ?
Jake : Yes, look! Got it, got it, need it... Do you want to swap this one?
Oui, regarde ! Je l'ai, je l'ai, il me la faut... Tu veux échanger celle-là ?
Kai : No, sorry, I've already got it. Have you got number forty-two?
Non, désolé, je l'ai déjà. Tu as le numéro quarante-deux ?
Jake : Yes, but it's a rare card. I want two cards for it.
Oui, mais c'est une carte rare. J'en veux deux cartes.
Kai : Two? OK, the goalkeeper and the dragon.
Deux ? D'accord, le gardien et le dragon.
Jake : It's a deal! Now my album is nearly full!
Marché conclu ! Maintenant, mon album est presque plein !
