Statistiques : one in six, twice as many, by 2050, will have + participe passé.

Mise en situation : le débat

Teacher : Life expectancy is rising and the birth rate is falling. What are the consequences?
Nathan : Fewer workers will have to pay for more pensions. That's why some governments want to raise the retirement age.
Ines : But it's unfair for people with physically demanding jobs. They can't work until seventy!
Teacher : Good point. Are there any positive aspects?
Bonne remarque. Y a-t-il des aspects positifs ?
Ines : Yes! Many retired people volunteer, or look after their grandchildren. That's real intergenerational solidarity.
Oui !
Nathan : And by 2050, one person in six will be over sixty-five. Businesses will have to adapt to older customers.
